Gemstone Engagement Rings

The trend of colored gemstone engagement rings, which began gaining traction in the 1980s, is set to become even more popular in 2024. While diamonds have long dominated the scene, more couples are opting for vibrant alternatives like emeralds, rubies, and sapphires.

Take Kate Middleton, for instance—her engagement ring features a stunning blue sapphire center with diamond accents, a cherished heirloom from Princess Diana. But she's not alone in this trend. Celebrities like Blake Lively sport pink diamonds in rose gold, courtesy her husband Ryan Reynolds. Katy Perry proudly flaunts a ruby centerpiece from Orlando Bloom. Although, we must say that Victoria Beckham's collection of 15 engagement rings takes the cake with rings that include all of the most popular gemstones. It’s a trend that’s definitely capturing hearts in the bridal realm. Shop all of gemstone rings here.

Ultra Femme

Dazzling on the Oscar's red carpet, triple-threat superstars Zendaya and Ariana Grande turned heads with their ultra-feminine pink jewelry ensembles. Zendaya wowed in Bulgari earrings adorned with morganites surrounded by a mesmerizing array of pink tourmalines, mandarin garnets, and diamonds, totaling a breathtaking 42.19 carats. Meanwhile, Ariana Grande paid a stylish tribute to her upcoming role in Wicked with Tiffany & Co.'s pink morganite pendant and matching earrings.

This trend epitomizes ultra-femininity, and we're excited to see the resurgence of girly pink and purple hues this year. Whether it's the allure of morganites, the elegance of amethysts, or the sophistication of sapphires, we've got all the on-trend colors you need to make a statement this year right here.

ruby and opal

And finally, our reigning pop queen, Taylor Swift, has made the popularity of rubies and opals rise in fashion jewelry over the past year. Often seen sporting these gemstones while cheering on her man, Travis Kelce, on the field, Swift's choices have become synonymous with style and symbolism.

The vibrant red hue of rubies, mirroring the colors of Kelce's team, the Kansas City Chiefs, naturally became Taylor's go-to sideline accessory. As for opals, they hold a special place in Taylor's heart. In an interview with US Weekly back in 2017, Taylor shared, "When I was bullied in school, my mom used to take me to T.J. Maxx after school to look at the opal jewelry". And it seems to be fate that Kelce’s birthstone is a, you guessed it- opal.

So, could an opal engagement ring be in Taylor's future? Who knows, but we're definitely keeping our eyes peeled! Shop Taylor’s favorite gemstones here.
