When it comes to blending fashion and philanthropy, Carter’s Collective is here for it! We were so happy to join the Kids Hub Child Advocacy Center as they hosted their annual Denim and Diamonds event at the Southern Oaks Venue in Hattiesburg. Denim and Diamonds is a glamorous evening event to support Kids Hub’s effort to ensure all children in our community are heard, supported, and protected. The event was full of fun consisting of games, a live auction, and live music by Madewood Street Music.
If you don't know about the work Kids Hub does in our community... It is the only child advocacy center of the Pinebelt, partnering with law enforcement, child protection agencies, prosecution teams, and victim advocates. Kids Hub aims to prioritize the needs of every child victim of abuse by consolidating all needed services into a single network. The Denim and Diamonds event is symbolic because it creates a metaphor for the services Kids Hub aims to provide to each victim and family they work with. Denim is soft and comfortable, like a hug, and diamonds are the toughest material on earth, formed out of pressure. Each victim is a diamond in the rough that needs the warm embrace of an advocacy organization like Kids Hub.
For the Denim and Diamonds event, guests were encouraged to rock a denim look and accessorize with sparkly diamonds (our favorite attire). We were excited to donate a classic diamond tennis necklace for a fundraising raffle! Miss Mississippi 2023, Vivian O’Neal, attended and elegantly modeled the tennis necklace! In addition, our team members in attendance sported a variety of diamond looks... diamond tennis necklaces, tennis bracelets martini stud earrings, and a fabulous triple row diamond by the yard necklace.
The live auction and donations from the event raised a total of $46,710! We are proud to have been a small part of this special night. All proceeds from Denim and Diamonds are benefiting Kids Hub Child Advocacy Center and their services for the child abuse victims in the Pinebelt.
