Carter’s Collective owner, Chae Carter, was selected to be part of this year's W.I.S.H Society of Hattiesburg. W.I.S.H, which stands for Women Inspiring Strength and Hope, annually honors 23 outstanding women from our community who are making significant contributions. And what's even more remarkable? Their united mission is to support Make a Wish of Mississippi!
As part of Chae's fundraising efforts, she curated a stunning collection of garden-inspired jewelry. A portion of each piece purchased made a donation to Make a Wish! The idea behind curating the collection was to create a secret garden, where dreams and wishes come true, full of flowers, butterflies, bees, and more. The W.I.S.H Society's goal this year was to grant all 11 wishes in waiting of The Pinebelt's children with critical illnesses.
To make Chae's vision of a secret garden come to life, we also hosted an elegant Garden Party right here at our store! Picture-perfect moments of floral arranging with flowers from Blooms were accompanied by the delightful fizz of champagne and the savory delights of charcuterie, courtesy of chef Katie Dixon. Even our reigning Miss Mississippi, Vivan O’Neal, joined us for the evening! A portion of all purchases and all proceeds from ticket sales were donated to Make a Wish, ensuring that every guest had a fabulous time while making wishes come true.
We're thrilled to announce that Chae raised over $3,500! And collectively, the women of the W.I.S.H society rallied together to raise an astonishing sum of over $89,000 for Make a Wish Mississippi! These funds hold the promise of turning dreams into reality for 11 children in the Pine Belt region, bravely battling critical illnesses. It's a testament to the power of community and compassion, and we couldn't be prouder to have been a part of it!
